WELWYN GC will prepare for the 2026-27 Southern League Div 1 Central campaign with seven warm-up pre-season friendlies.
Confirmed opposition has WGC playing AWAY against three step 3 sides – all a division higher than the Citizens in the non-league pyramid – in Wingate & Finchley of the Isthmian Premier on Tues, July 7th and Southern League Premier South pair Berkhamsted (Tues, July 21st) and newly promoted Hanworth Villa on Sat, July 25th.
In addition, WGC will pay a first visit to another newly promoted club Penn & Tylers Green of the Combined Counties League on Sat, July 11th.
On Tues, July 14th, WGC will make the short trip to Harpenden, to meet the home Spartan South Midlands League side, who are under new management, having appointed Jimmy Gray, the ex-St Albans and Barton boss, recently.
The Citizens will meet Hendon of the Isthmian League South Central – a standard that’s at the same level as WGC’s own division - on Tues, July 28th.
Hendon are managed nowadays by former WGC boss Adam Fisher, who was appointed at Silver Jubilee Park, just before the season’s end.
WGC have a provisional date to travel to Barking of the Essex Senior League for Saturday, July 18th, but that fixture is yet to be confirmed.
